The Third Edition of the Festival was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Conrad K. Sangma, and the Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Bah Paul Lyngdoh. At the Shillong Literary Festival, the Chief Minister discussed the government’s plans to support local writers and researchers. He announced a special fund to provide financial assistance, enabling them to focus on writing and research in their local languages. 

This initiative aims to encourage young people to embrace and promote their literary heritage. Interactive sessions, quizzes, poetry recitals, and readings kept the audience engaged throughout the festival. Notable speakers included writer and journalist Sam Miller, Indian poet and writer Janice Pariat, Indian writer and literary critic B. Jeyamohan, author and director Naveen Kishore, and Indian-American author and poet Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.
